His former career causes his wife to commit suicide due to spiraling depression over his long absences which puts him at odds with his daughter’s grandfather who looks to all but remove him and his visitation rights from her world.
When the daughter of the company’s owner Jenny (Arianna Rivas), is taken during a night out with friends; Levon is reluctantly forced back into the world of violence he left as he attempts to locate Jenny and uses all methods at his disposal to enter a underworld loaded with very dangerous individuals which only increases in danger the closer he gets to his goal as he rattles some very big chains along the way with his take no prisoners methods.
While the film is a slow burn with some action elements thrown in, the movie kicks into high gear during the finale and the body count and action rises dramatically as a result.
While the story comes across as a mixture of “Taken” and “John Wick” at times; it delivers what fans expect in that it does not go heavy on plot or character development but introduces waves of bad guys for Stathan to go through. This should keep fans happy and with multiple Levon Cade books available to adapt, audiences likely have not seen the last of the character.
