This is great news for Dinosaur fans.
The Sandbox, the leading social gaming and metaverse platform and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, is collaborating with Universal Products & Experiences and Amblin Entertainment to bring the beloved Jurassic World franchise to life in the metaverse. This collaboration will bring fans new games and immersive experiences inspired by the Jurassic World franchise, along with exclusive, limited-edition Jurassic World-inspired digital collectibles including playable characters, dinosaurs, and wearables. The first Jurassic World game will serve as the flagship release for The Sandbox’s next major in-game event, Alpha Season 5, in March 2025.

The debut gameplay experience of the collaboration, Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve, invites fans to create brand-new Jurassic World memories. Set in a dinosaur sanctuary in Arizona, players serve as members of the Dinosaur Protection Group and are responsible for keeping the facilities running smoothly by exploring, collecting, and completing quests. The experience will be accompanied by the release of a special, limited-quantity dinosaur egg collection that will allow players to hatch and evolve different dinosaur species of varying rarities as they progress through the experience, including Tyrannosaurus’, and Velociraptors. Every trip to the sanctuary will be different, with variables and events introducing new challenges to keep the experience fresh and exciting.

Beginning in April, fans will also be able to purchase virtual real estate and build their own experiences. Premium LAND purchasers in the new neighborhood will receive a Creator Asset Pack featuring collectible digital dinosaurs and props, designed to enhance their experiences and evoke the theme of prehistoric adventure.
