Amidst a wave of lofty expectations, the new Indiana Jones game; Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has arrived and provides an epic cinematic experience that surpasses the recent films and captures the very essence of what fans want in an Indiana Jones story.
Starting off with the opening of the first film; players get used to the mechanics of the game which combine melee and weapon combat ranging from fists, guns, objects, and his trusty whip. Objects can be thrown at enemies and players will need to keep an eye on their health and stamina during the game as attempting to block an attack with low stamina can be devastating.
When an attack and theft occurs at Indy’s college, he sets off on an adventure that will take him to Rome, Egypt, China, Nepal, and other exotic locations as he battles Nazis, Fascists, and other enemies in a sprawling adventure with over 20 hours of gameplay as well as numerous side quests and achievements.
The voice work is exceptional as is the music which was on par with any cinematic experience and it was hard to believe that it was not Harrison Ford himself as Troy Baker was exceptional.
The adrenaline laced action captures the best moments from the series as gameplay involves locating objects, deciphering puzzles, and narrow escapes which at times can be a bit frustrating but are highly satisfying upon completion.
The graphics are amazing but at times did strain a 4070 RTX card with an I7 GPU and loads of RAM.
That being said, the visuals were absolutely amazing and while some levels seem to go on or be a bit finicky with what was required for completion; the overall experience was captivating from start to finish and the vast and varied locations were a highly satisfying gameplay experience.
The cut scenes were at times lengthy but helped move the story along well and some levels were absolutely breathtaking in their scope and as I have previously said; surpassed elements of many of the prior films to deliver the satisfying segments that fans wanted.
With DLC and reported other games in the works; the bar has been set exceptionally high for what the future of the Indiana Jones game franchise will offer; as this release is an absolute must for fans and gamers alike.
