Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard) is a successful yet reclusive author who thanks to her successful Argylle spy series lives away from her adoring fans with her cat.
A chance meeting with a stranger named Aidan (Sam Rockwell) takes Elly away from her sheltered fantasy life as Aidan reveals that he is a spy and that her books; especially the yet to be released one have hit close to the mark and made her a target of actual spy networks who believe that she has inside information and knows the location of objects which can expose a laundry list of dirty secrets.
The neurotic and timid Elly often sees Aidan in the form of Henry Cavill as she envisions him to be the personification of Argylle which further corrupts the line between fantasy and reality.
What follows is a star-studded adventure around the globe with a nice mix of humor and action that contains more than a few twists and turns along the way.
The cast is great and the mix is so effective that I hope future adventures are coming as Director Matthew Vaughn has spun a PG-13 adventure equally as fun and engaging as his Kingsman entries.
For kick back and enjoy entertainment, “Argylle” delivers a winning adventure.
