It’s that time of year again to celebrate the end of Summer and beginning of fall at the Washington State Fair located in Puyallup, WA. The biggest fair in the Nothwest offers a little bit of everything to all ages. You still have pleanty of time to enjoy the fair. As one could imagine it is a lot busier during the weekend especially having fantastic weather as we had.
I usually start out at the Gold Gate and I have deemed that, the official start of the fairgrounds for my family. Here we take pictures with the official mascot of the fair with the fountain in the background. You will find the Plaza Stage providing a nice spot for a shady rest and fun entertainment.
The expo hall is our next stop where you will find information on our beautiful states natuaral wonders and you can even try your hand at some archery which is also a nice treat. Another spot for some shade and a nice cool breeze is right under the Grandstand in the Merchant’s building. Here you can find the world famous Fisher Scone stand and take a walk back in time and see relics from the past and learn some fair history as well.
The Showplex is probably one of the busier areas. Here you will find all your vendors selling all sorts of stuff along with some food vendors and a fine art gallery. We saved this for last thinking the crowd would have been smaller but in fact it was still as busy as ever. Outpost 47 stage & bar was a nice little spot that offered some fantastic musical entertainment and is open to all ages, there is also a food truck parked there as well so no need to worry about getting hungry during the show.
This year’s newest traveling addition is called Survival the exhibition and is located in the Centennial building. Do you have bravery & brains? Do you like to explore & love the wonders of nature? Then you will love this new exhibition which is fun for all ages. Ages 3 and over: $9 and a family four pack is $30. Please check website for rules and regulations and for more information.
I rarely miss going to The Fair. It is a staple of our Washington State culture. There is always something for everyone…animals, rides, exhibits, entertainment, concerts, shopping and lots of food to choose from. You won’t be disappointed!
