7 Apps That Took Over After the Fall of Google One Today

For seven years, Google’s One Today app has supported non-profit charities, enabling users to donate as little as $1 and get information on how the donation would be used.

The App has always been open to a variety of users, regardless of position in society. It doesn’t matter if you are a personal injury attorney or a janitor; the app would receive whatever amount you have to offer to complete projects.

One Today also had a feature that allowed users to set a cap and match a donation to a cause made by their friends for crowdsourcing. The app also provided users with a receipt at the end of the year to be used for deductions.

Why Was Google One Today Closed?

Google One Today was not a very well-known product; therefore, many people did not feel its loss. The main reason for the closure resulted from donors choosing other products to fundraise for non-profit organizations other than the app.

As of February 6th, 2020, new non-profits were unable to sign up, causing the app to be turned off and deleted from the open projects. It is quite shameful to see such a helpful concept go to waste.

Which Apps Took Over After the Fall of Google One Today?

Elimination of the app wasn’t the end of digital fundraising. Several other fundraising apps have popped up for users to donate to their favorite organizations.

1. Facebook Fundraisers and Instagram Donation Stickers

All Is Not Lost for Google

It was a wise decision for Google to do away with the One Today app, as several apps have stepped into the gap for non-profit organizations. Those, as mentioned above, are a snippet of a whole lot of apps. It is up to the organization to choose which one they prefer.
