The Marriott Costa Mesa Is A Great Place To Stay
With travel opportunities returning more frequently; we have had the chance to increase our coverage and recently enjoyed a trip to Costa Mesa California. Our trip started with some coverage of Knott’s Berry Farm and after a busy and chaotic evening; we made our way to the hotel.
The property is located near the South Coast Plaza shopping center which offers several dining and shopping options and there are numerous dining opportunities all within a short drive of the hotel.
Our check-in was very pleasant and the very modern and spacious lobby, lounge, and aMuse dining options.
We parked in the nearby parking garage which is available for a daily rate and made our way to the room which exceeded our expectations. The stylish front room had a counter and chair as well as a very nice couch, television, fridge, and coffee maker. The hotel offers a microwave on certain floors and ours was located down the hall by the Ice Machine.
There is Wi-Fi available at very prices based on the desired speed but those who take part in the free Marriott Bonvoy program can have their standard Wi-Fi free of charge.
The closet had a safe and plenty of storage space and the bathroom was very modern with a wide-angle shower head and hand sprayer with modern drainage.
The bedroom offered a second television as well as a very comfortable bed with a view of the pool area and lake which was even more scenic in the morning.
Since foodservice had just closed; we opted to head into town and a helpful map provided by the staff highlighted numerous dining options from formal to quick service and we were able to find several options within five minutes of the hotel.
Upon returning we used the store to get a few things for the evening and then settled in after a very long drive and hectic evening prior to checking in. While I was browsing; the staff took the time to chat with me and were very engaging and pleasant beyond the normal pleasantries one would expect and we discussed the various dining options we were considering for the following evening and other points of interest.
We opted to have breakfast at the hotel and I ordered from aMuse which had several great options and we were very happy with the Omelet and Breakfast Burrito that we selected as they helped us get ready for the day ahead.
We drove around and took in some of the Mural artwork near the hotel as well as the sites and went about our busy day of coverage before returning to dine in the area. We had hoped to visit a locale named Sevilla but due to the Flamenco music earlier in the night; we were unable to find easy parking despite having a reservation and opted to return at another time. Being a Saturday evening around 9; some of the locales that had been suggested to us were set to close in the next 90 minutes but sadly found they all had long waits or would close soon so we made a note that we would get their earlier on a future visit.
There were still abundant options near the hotel and we were able to find an option that fit our needs just fine. We took the opportunity to drive around the area and made note of several places we wished to visit on a future visit.
Our evening at the hotel was enjoyable as our televisions offered numerous channels and we were even able to log into Netflix and stream movies from our list on one of our evenings.
The hotel also offers a pool and gym area and while we did not have time to experience them on this visit; we were impressed with what we saw.
While the hotel did not have a Business Center; they were able to print out a form that we needed and even taped up and mailed a mailing for us which saved us a trip to the Post Office and was greatly appreciated.
Due to time constraints, we had to leave early the next morning and the hotel staff once again was very friendly and helpful and we were again offered bottled water as we had been during our stay whenever we went to the desk. The hotel is located a short distance from the freeway so we were able to find gas across the highway before we embarked on our trip home.
Although our trip was too short for our liking and more chaotic than we had planned; the hotel and staff of the Marriott Costa Mesa were absolutely amazing from top to bottom and surpassed our expectations from start to finish. We hope we can make another visit soon as the local area offers so many things that we look forward to covering and Costa Mesa also offers easy access to the abundant activities that the area is known for.
