Here is a bonus Deleted Scene from NYCC.
CULVER CITY, Calif. – October 8, 2020 – Utopia goes full throttle in a deleted scene unveiled by Prime Video today, on the heels of the Amazon Original Series’ September 25 launch. The sequence was first revealed as a world-exclusive during Utopia’s New York Comic Con Panel this afternoon, which is now available to stream on NYCC’s official YouTube channel. Packed with duplicity, a thrilling chase and business deal gone awry, the previously-unseen clip comes from the series’ penultimate episode, and as executive producer and showrunner Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl, Sharp Objects) puts it, “…it killed me to cut it…the stakes were so high…that scene was its own pure cul-de-sac…”
About Utopia:
Utopia is an eight-episode conspiracy thriller about saving the world, while trying to find your place in it. Inspired by the British series of the same name, the new Amazon Original series was written by Gillian Flynn, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Utopia centers on a group of comic fans who meet online and bond over their obsession of a seemingly fictional comic called, “Utopia.” Together, Becky (Ashleigh LaThrop), Ian (Dan Byrd), Samantha (Jessica Rothe), Wilson Wilson (Desmin Borges) and Grant (Javon “Wanna” Walton) unearth hidden meanings cloaked within the pages of “Utopia,” predicting threats to humanity. They realize these are not just the makings of a conspiracy; they are very real dangers coming alive right now in their world. The group embarks on a high-stakes adventure, bringing them face-to-face with the comic’s famed central character, Jessica Hyde (Sasha Lane), who joins them on their mission to save the world while harboring secrets of her own. The series also stars John Cusack as Dr. Kevin Christie, in his first series regular role for television. Rainn Wilson stars as Dr. Michael Stearns, Farrah Mackenzie as Alice, Christopher Denham as Arby, and Cory Michael Smith as Thomas Christie.
Alongside Gillian Flynn, executive producers include Jessica Rhoades (with whom Flynn collaborated on Sharp Objects), Sharon Levy, Sharon Hall, Toby Haynes, Karen Wilson, and Dennis Kelly. The series is a co-production between Endemol Shine North America, Kudos and Amazon Studios.Utopia is available to stream now in the US, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, and India. Dubbed foreign language versions will premiere for additional territories worldwide October 30.

Amazon Prime has another winner on their hands with the upcoming series Utopia. The series was previewed at San Diego Comic-Con online and after watching seven of the first 8 episodes I can say that I am hooked.
The show follows the discovery of a rare comic named Utopia which appears to be a follow up of the cult comic Dystopia. The pages of the new comic are discovered in a cluttered home following the passing of the owner and the two young people who inherited the home opt to hold an auction for the comic at an upcoming convention.
The two decide to have people come to the room where they are allowed to view a single page before they write down their offer and contact information.
The plan goes well and one individual makes a very large offer to avoid the bidding process which is accepted.
This sets a chain of events into motion as a pair of assassins arrives to eliminate all who have seen the comic and claim it for themselves. Their plans go awry when the comic is stolen and a group of fans at the show set out to retrieve the comic and avoid the killers while trying to unravel the mystery of Utopia.
At the same time a mysterious and deadly Flu is killing children and appears to be spreading. Industrialist Dr. Kevin Christie (John Cusack); is in the crosshairs due to his synthetic meat being linked to the virus. He attempts to recruit viral expert Dr. Michael Stearns (Rainn Wilson), who is eager to regain his status but has misgivings over the planned course of action to rush his viral serum into market without proper testing.
The characters soon find themselves intertwined as things do not appear to be what they seem and the stakes grow more and more deadly and serious with each passing day.
While the show is a bit slow getting started as it establishes the characters and premise; it becomes an addictive and intense thriller that will keep you riveted. If you are a fan of The Boys you will be ready for the violence and gore in the show which is at times intense and extreme but always appropriate for the show.
Look for Utopia on Amazon Prime starting September 25th.
