This is a good cause and a great learning tool.
The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet, causing sea ice to melt. It’s important for us all to take note and do what we can to protect wild animals and wild places.
SeaWorld is raising awareness today by recognizing Arctic Sea Ice Day, reminding everyone about the importance arctic sea ice plays in the lives of arctic animals.
SeaWorld’s Wild Arctic is home to beluga whales and ringed seals, who both depend on arctic sea ice to survive. For belugas, it provides camouflage from their predators, and when it melts in the spring, that’s an indication it’s time to migrate.
Ringed seals also use the ice as protection, and it is the birthing and nursing place for their pups.

Members of the public can do their part by learning more about climate change and shifting to renewable energy options.
Arctic Ice Day was created by Polar Bears International, one of SeaWorld’s important conservation partners.
