For Summer Game Fest Trailer:
June 10, 2020 — Summer Game Fest, the video game industry’s new, all-digital season of events and news, is coming to YouTube in a big way starting this month. Today producer Geoff Keighley (The Game Awards) and YouTube announced a partnership to produce over 4 hours of exclusive live Summer Game Fest content, in addition to Summer Game Fest content already available on TheGameAwards channel.
Produced as an all-digital, virtual show, Summer Game Fest Live on YouTube Gaming will give YouTube’s global audience a front row seat to the biggest video game announcements in June and July from the top gaming publishers and platforms. Programming will include live pre-shows with predictions and live post-shows with reactions, special guest interviews with top names in gaming and entertainment, and commentary from global YouTube Gaming creators from countries such as Brazil, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. The first event will kick off at 3:00 PM ET / Noon PT on Thursday, June 11 for PlayStation 5 – The Future of Gaming and will include a live pre-show with Geoff Keighley and YouTube creators recounting their favorite PlayStation memories and predicting which games they might see revealed. Immediately following the live reveal event, Keighley will be joined by industry insiders and YouTube creators for a post-show with reactions to the news and additional details on what was just revealed.
Summer Game Fest Live on YouTube adds to the long-standing relationship between Geoff Keighley and YouTube to deliver high-quality gaming industry content including five years of Live at E3 programming.
“For over a half-decade I’ve enjoyed partnering with YouTube to bring the gaming community together during the summer,” said Geoff Keighley, host/executive producer. “This year, with the launch of Summer Game Fest, we are continuing that tradition with a series of YouTube livestreams around the industry’s biggest press events and moments.”
“For the past six years, YouTube has worked with Geoff to bring some of the biggest gaming industry events to a broader audience using the power of our platform,” said Ryan Wyatt, Head of Gaming, YouTube. “While physical events this year transition to digital, it’s comforting to know that we still have Geoff to guide us through the biggest industry announcements and we’re excited to add our unique YouTube flavor via creators from around the world.”
Summer Game Fest Live on YouTube is new, exclusive content available for free that strengthens YouTube’s commitment to provide high quality content for gaming fans globally. These livestreams, in addition to creator tournaments and charity livestreams, bring together gaming creators and the gaming community at large, particularly during this time when they need it the most. YouTube Gaming is a gaming destination that gives gamers endless ways to enjoy the games they care about and connect with creators and communities that share their same passion.
In addition to Summer Game Fest Live, Geoff Keighley will produce an additional series of non-exclusive livestreams that will also be available on YouTube including Gamescom: Opening Night Live, which will air live on Thursday, August 27 as a spectacular grand finale to the Summer Game Fest season.
