Recently we spoke with actor Wilf Scolding about his new film BEES MAKE HONEY. We also asked about his role on Game of Thrones.
• What attracted you to be a part of Bees Make Honey?
The main reason was the writing, I felt Jack had injected the dialogue with such sharp wit and intelligence, and created such a vividly wild and fantastical world, I couldn’t wait to be involved.
• In three words describe your character Inspector Shoerope?
Determined, Driven, Devoted
• How did you prepare for your role?
I researched Police Inspectors in the early 1930s, and went through the script with a fine tooth comb, making sure I gleaned as much information about my character as I possibly could.
• What has been your favorite part about being in Bees Make Honey?
Getting to know and work with the Eve Family; Jack, Alice, George, Trevor and Sharon who were all incredibly kind to me during and after Bees Make Honey.
• What inspired you to get into acting?
Growing up, I watched a lot of films – I adored immersing myself into a different time, or country, or world. I think Actors can be incredibly powerful storytellers, and I love stories so I wanted to learn how to tell them in my favourite medium.
• As the film’s setting is around a Halloween party, what has been your
favorite Halloween costume?
Slap a pumpkin on my head any day – sleepy hollow style, and I’m a happy man.
• What is one word that truly describes Bees Make Honey? And why?
Outrageous. You’ll see why!
• Can viewers expect to see you in Game of Thrones anytime soon? What else
is coming up for you?
I’m afraid my lips are sealed about Game of Thrones and my future on the show. You can next see me briefly opposite Ruth Wilson in her jaw-dropping new BBC One Drama, Mrs Wilson. There are a couple of other things that I have to keep quiet about for now, but watch this space…
Best,
