The old adage about not judging a book by its cover has never been more relatable to a hotel travel than our recent stay at the Ramada Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. After an almost six hour drive with unexpected rain, the idea of settling into the room for a nice evening before a busy convention was very appealing. The free parking offered easy access to the lobby and there were numerous restaurants and shopping options within a short drive or easy walk from the hotel.
My check in was very easy and making my way to my room it seemed as if the hotel as a well-used and standard hotel. I prepared myself for a typical value room and what I got did not reflect my expectations. The room was larger than I expected and offered hardwood floors, a microwave fridge, plenty of space, and very contemporary furnishings.
The television had some issues due to the connectors but the staff was on hand fast and had me up and running in no time. I was really impressed with the wide selection of stations offered as it gave me plenty of options.
The hotel offered a wide range of delivery options from local restaurants and there were some very appealing choices and tons of variety. Our order was delivered promptly and the previously mentioned refrigerator and microwave came in handy.
With Wondercon the following day, I charged up our electronics and took advantage of the free Wi-Fi as I had two coming episodes of a show to stream and watch ahead of a cast interview at the convention. The connection was solid and I had no issues watching the shows or working on any of my online content during our stay.
The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of towels and the room did offer in-room coffee and tea. The following morning, there was a breakfast option that offered coffee, juice, waffles, toast, pastry, cereals, and fruit.
The check-out was easy and the staff was helpful in offering to let us leave our car there if we wanted to walk to the Convention Center and return later and also noted that Target was available for battery needs that arose.
The hotel is much more inviting than the nearby hotel and exterior may lead to. The rooms are comfy and spacious and the staff is very helpful. The numerous dining options within walking distance and the delivery options made for a very easy and relaxing stay which was much needed after a long drive and a busy day ahead.
The hotel offers easy access to Disneyland, The Convention Center, as well as nearby attractions such as Knott’s Berry farm.
