UFC fans should love this as it looks like EA is going all out. Do note that this was posted before the fight which had a different outcome but illustrates the game being used to evaluate matchups.
BOOM! Just like that, Luke Rockhold claims the title of Interim Middleweight Champion by defeating current Middleweight #1 Yoel Romero via submission in Round 3 of UFC 221’s premier bout… according to EA SPORTS UFC 3 anyway.
Ahead of this weekend’s headlining matchup between #1 Romero and #2 Rockhold, UFC 3 ran a simulation that saw the two Middleweights exchange punches and takedowns in each of the first two rounds, before a tired Romero missed on a flying knee and was stunned by the big left hook of Rockhold. Romero went for a single leg takedown in a last ditch effort to turn the fight around, but the savvy vet Rockhold quickly turned the failed takedown into a guillotine, forcing Romero to tap and claiming the Interim Middleweight title.
