With all of our travel to cover conventions, theme parks, tourism, and other media events, it is a nice change of pace when we travel for leisure or family activities where adherence to a schedule is not required. During a recent visit to Ontario California, we stayed at the Folk Inn which is conveniently located near the airport as well as the convention center and numerous restaurants.
Check in was easy in the friendly and attentive staff directed us to our room and informed us that the restaurant was undergoing renovation and as such, breakfast would be served in the adjoining room the following morning. The room was extremely spacious and inviting when we walked in and due to the unusually warm weather in the area, the chilly embrace of the AC was extremely welcome as was the king-size bed and comfy couch that came with the room. As we settled in and enjoyed the options on the flat screen television we debated having food delivered before opting to go to a location within an easy walk from the main doors. The microwave, fridge and coffee maker in the room also came in handy and allowed us to settle in after a busy day.
The remainder of our evening was very pleasant and before we knew it we were enjoying a very pleasant breakfast. Eggs and waffles were only part of the options there were also numerous offerings on the Continental breakfast that catered to the numerous guest at the hotel visiting from the Pacific Rim. The option to dine outside was an intriguing choice but after the warm weather, we opted to stay inside the comfortable air-conditioning. While this was just a quick trip and we did not have a chance to take in many the amenities the hotel offered, we did note everything from laundry to business services as well as cash machines, snack areas, car rentals, meeting rooms, fitness and business centers, as well as a pool were available. Parking and the Wi-Fi was free which made for a very enjoyable and complete stay. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle to the airport for guests flying in and out of the city.
For those looking for a quiet and enjoyable stay apart from the usual names, you may very well find the Folk Inn to be an enjoyable stay that offers many of the frills of the more expensive hotels and a much more economic price and setting.
