Directed by Lu Chuan and narrated by John Krasinski, DisneyNatures’ documentary, Born in China gives you an up close and personal story some of the different species living in various areas of China-the snow leopard, panda, crane, cherub, and snub nosed monkey. With a gorgeous and breathtaking scenery, you learn how each creature lives throughout all four seasons. How they hunt, commiserate, migrate, raise their offspring, and fight for territory and prey.
It’s amazing how close Chuan was able to get to some of these amazing creatures. Every scene is marvelously shot. Leave it to Disney to tug at the heartstrings and really make you feel as if you’re front and center in the jungles of China. The film doesn’t really delve into the dangerous and disturbing parts you see in other documentaries. It did provide a knowledge and understanding of what the animals deal with on a regular basis. You can’t help but want to help protect these species from becoming extinct. Well, at least that’s the case for me.
