While covering Wondercon, we took some time to visit Downtown Disney for some fun and relaxation. While sadly we did not have time to visit either of the parks, we wanted to get some shopping in and see a movie before heading to our hotel.
When it came time for lunch I suggested the Storytellers’ café located at The Disney Grand Californian Hotel. As members of the Disney Vacation Club we are always happy to visit the hotel and we know that Storytellers’ always offers great food and service which made it an ideal place to visit especially since it has been a while since we last dined there.
We were greeted pleasantly upon our arrival and were informed that it was menu service only as the buffet was closed and was being prepped for the evening.
While we usually have the buffet, we have had menu dining in the past and this was more than acceptable to us. As an added bonus, Chip, Dale, and Grr were on hand and before heading out, they made sure to come by and playfully interact with us. Grr was comparing my arm hair to his while Chip and Dale played with my hair and were great fun.
We were treated to the freshly baked bread and muffins which were simply amazing and my soup was an amazingly tasty starter.
I opted for the Turkey Club and fries while Genevieve opted for thee Guacamole Burger and fries. Not only were the portions very impressive but the quality and flavor were fantastic and surpassed our expectations.
Our servers were great and one even talked to us about the theme of the restaurant and gave us a pamphlet that covered the various artwork and themes of the restaurant. I opted to skip desert but Genevieve enjoyed the amazing Cheesecake which was part of their amazing list of dessert options. From the setting to the food and service, Storyteller’s Café continues the trend of great Disney dining options and is well worth a visit even during a quick visit to Downtown Disney.
