During a recent trip to San Diego to do some coverage, we had a chance to stay at the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn. Our drive over had been longer than usual due to some construction but upon seeing the beautiful facility for the first time, we were very impressed.
The resort is located within a community and after passing by the country club, we arrived in the public parking area which was a short walk to the lobby. The hotel does offer a Valet service, but this allowed us to stretch our legs after a long drive.
The lobby was filled with beautiful artwork and decor and we loved seeing the fireplaces lit up and enjoyed by the guests of the resort. Our check in was very quick and pleasant and we were directed to the location of our building which was not far from the car, so once we collected our bags we had a nice walk to our room.
The room was vast and breathtaking and the robe and slippers with a sprig of Jasmine was a very nice and welcoming touch. The spacious bathroom had plenty of counter space and salon products as well as a tooth care and shave kit provided. I was thrilled to see the soaking tub as that was just what I needed after the long day and drive.
The room had a King bed which accented the backdrop and exposed beam ceiling greatly and we looked over the room service menu while we watched television and were impressed at the selections that were available.
With a big day ahead of us, we fell asleep early than expected but with the peace and tranquility offered by the room and resort; this was very easy to do. The next morning we enjoyed the in room coffee and the beautiful view of the golf course and area offered by our deck and it was wonderful to sit and enjoy the views.
Gas, grocery, and other convinces were just a short drive away as we decided to gas up before heading to SeaWorld for an article we were working on as well as spending some time with family in the area.
There is always so much to see and do that there never seems to be enough time to get it all in so we were looking forward to a relaxing evening at the resort before heading home the next morning. When we returned, a wedding was going on, and many of the guests were making their way back to their cars following the ceremony. The facility often hosts weddings and other special events such as corporate retreats and functions and part of the appeal aside from the beauty of the resort is the number of amenities it offers.
From the pool and hot tub there are also more upscale offerings such as the numerous dining options such as the Avant and the Veranda Fireside Lounge. There were also rooms where private functions and wine tastings could be held and naturally plenty of places to have a drink and relax. We loved seeing all of the places where you could enjoy the fire and just unwind.
The resort also offers a full lineup of Spa services for guests who desire an even greater level of relaxation during their stay. We did not get a chance to take advantage of it during our brief stay, but we did note them as something to look at during a future visit.
Our final morning at the resort was spent enjoying a wonderful buffet breakfast at the Veranda Fireside Lounge. The offerings were plentiful and amazing from great eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, cereals, and more. We especially loved the custom omelet and waffle bar which were not only amazing but had ingredients that were amazingly fresh and tasty.
We wished we had more time but sadly we had to drive home but we made sure to look at the Gift Shop and patio areas before we left as well as the fountain area.
Our check out was very nice, and we were on our way without any delays or hesitations. I have often seen locales that offer far less in the way of ambiance and services charge significantly more for a room than the Rancho Bernardo Inn. The resort offered a much better room, services, and overall experience than comparably priced and more expensive hotels which really underscores the versatility of the resort. The Rancho Bernardo Inn offers a great weekend getaway locale as well as an ideal location for business, special events, meetings, vacations, or simply having a nice dinner and drinks.
The numerous San Diego attractions are about twenty five minutes away as we were able to be in the downtown area which includes the airport and SeaWorld within a very pleasant and easy drive from the resort.
The next time you are in San Diego, you will want to visit the Rancho Bernardo Inn for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in this beautiful city.
