During our coverage of CES 2017 we took a break from our barrage of technology coverage to experience KISS Mini Golf at the Rio in Las Vegas.
The attraction offers 18 KISS themed holes that offer fun and challenge to players of all ages and abilities. Check in was fast as was our club and ball selection as the helpful attendant selected clubs that were the perfect length for us.
A DJ played several KISS songs while we played and several screens had classic concert footage from the band. I really enjoyed the neon tone of the course and the murals that were displayed which covered elements from the history of the band. There was the infamous blood of the band used for a KISS themed comic book as well as the first appearance without the trademark makeup. It was also nice to see that others members of KISS were featured beyond the original four members.
We had to pace ourselves as the course was filled with guests and the group we were playing with had children with them so that limited teams to no more than five players at a time. Thankfully the ambiance and music made it very easy to pass the time and the numerous props ranging from oversized guitars and shoes made it a great place for photos. Guests wanting to wait can also amuse themselves with various games in the arcade as well.
The holes were lots of fun to play as some involved putting on an incline while others required more precise shot placement but even when a shot went horribly awry, it was still a very enjoyable time.
The variety of holes was very well designed and when paired with the music and visuals made for a very unique and enjoyable experience.
