Recently I spoke with Carla Jimenez about her new show The Mick. Carla was kind enough to talk to us about the show, her character, and career.
What can you tell us about your character?
Alba is the Pemberton’s housekeeper & nanny. She’s kind of invisible until Mickey gets there and shakes up her world.
How did you get into acting and what was your big break?
I always had a big imagination and loved “play acting” but I think High School got me really into it. I’m not sure exactly when my “break” came, but NACHO LIBRE made me more known.
What was working with your cast like and how has Kaitlin been managing the demands of two series?
I really love working with this cast. We have a lot of fun on set and laugh a lot. I think Kaitlin is doing a great job of balancing two shows, she’s a true professional.
How would you compare and contrast the humor of the show with your past projects?
I think this show is way more out-of-the-box than anything I’ve done in the past.
FOX has had a history of controversial shows with dysfunctional families. Do you think The Mick will take this to a new level?
I think it’s pushing boundaries and trying to bring a cable feel to network, which is new and exciting.
Will we get to hear you sing in any upcoming shows?
Actually…you will, a couple times
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love movie trivia, game nights and MULTIPLE reruns of Law & Order SV
What other projects do you have coming up?
I am currently recurring on the TV show The Adventures of Puss in Boots as Senora Zapata on Netflix.
