Ukrainian Minister Intends To Liquidate Underground Gambling

Ukraine is experiencing an amazing time – in December of this year, local authorities intend to carry out a campaign to clean up the mass of illegal gambling business. Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov reported that in December of this year, black gambling market in the country will be completely eliminated.

As the official noted, anyone who wants to get profits from gambling, must act strictly within the law – to buy a license and pay taxes. The Minister assured that the fight against illegal gambling establishments will be also supported by Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers.

In particular, to improve the control over the gambling market, it requires a number of laws that will have an effective impact on this sphere as well as on online casino. The official believes that the preservation of the situation in the country in the form in which it is fraught with serious problems and threaten the security of citizens. At the moment, the illegal gambling market – the sponsor of the black market, as it provokes rampant crime and increases the number of criminals.

According to Avakov, efforts to find and eliminate the gambling establishments across the country should also make the chiefs of regional administrations. The Minister, by the way, is not the first time raised the question regarding the regulation of gambling business in the country. It has already been sent to the Verkhovna Rada some time ago, where the minister asked to improve the country’s legislation.

Served as president of the Ukrainian Association of Gambling Industry Irina Sergienko said that effective measures to eliminate the illegal gambling has not yet been adopted. A relatively recent local law enforcement officers dismantled a criminal organization that manages 18 online casinos.
