Oh…Sir! The Insult Simulator brings about hours of petty arguments and laughter. With a quirky premise, it was both enjoyable to play alone and with friends. When starting off, you get to play as one of three characters; while this not only a visual preference, there is some strategy that goes into play. With each new character, it brings about a new weakness; get to know these as best as you can. The tutorial flows naturally, teaching you new portions of gameplay at a well thought out tempo.
It addresses the different combo’s and advantages you can use. I learned about the invaluable combo multiplier, the power of a rude insult, and of course, the all too classic cup of tea. The aim of the game is to rack up points by generating a solid, well thought out, and possibly rude insult. Take turns piecing together the perfect insult, only to be thrown off when your opponent chooses “Your mother” before you can snag it yourself. If you are looking for character choice, it is easy to unlock an array of different characters. Each one of these characters are gifted with a certain charm that can only be achieved by this game. Another aspect of the game that changes from bout to bout is the scenery. Filled with Monty Python references, this light-hearted game managed to hold my attention and keep it.
Though I have yet to unlock every unlockable from the game, a nice feature includes the ability to play scenes that your opponent has unlocked themselves. There are many different ways to play this game, though I highly recommend playing the tournament at least once. Through the tournament, you get a quick taste of the many different scenarios. Each battle gets progressively absurd until it leads you to a proper last tiff. A quick 1-hour play through and you’re more than ready to get into the competitive Insult-Simulated world.
