Marvel Launches Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War-inspired Version of Black Panther Across Games Portfolio
Inspired by Black Panther’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and by his best-selling new comic book series written by acclaimed author Ta-Nehisi Coates, Marvel Games is joining the already expansive merchandising program celebrating Black Panther’s 50th Anniversary by debuting Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War-inspired versions of the Black Panther across multiple titles in its portfolio.
“Through his breakout debut in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, the excitement surrounding Black Panther has reached a world-wide fever pitch,” said Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann. “Marvel Games is proud to join the 50th Anniversary celebration of Black Panther by allowing gamers to become the brilliant King of Wakanda, using his razor-sharp claws and mind to battle evil.”
New versions of Black Panther, inspired by Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, will launch across several Marvel Games titles including:
- Kabam’s mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions
- Netmarble’s mobile RPG Marvel Future Fight
- Disney Interactive’s team-based mobile RPG Marvel Avengers Alliance 2
- Gazillion’s PC online action game Marvel Heroes 2016
Black Panther joins the all-star line-up of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War-inspired characters and content currently available across the Marvel Games portfolio, which launched prior to the film’s release.
