For those who have always wanted to try virtual reality gaming technology, but didn’t know where to go, GameStop now is sharing a demo of this mind-blowing technology at it’s Bellevue location (see address below) on this Saturday, April 16. Seeing is believing when GameStop and HTC Vive offer a virtual reality demo station providing an experience of a lifetime for customers through a virtual reality demo loop including theBlu (an underwater experience), Space Pirate Trainer (space video game) and Tilt Brush (where controllers are used as a paintbrush and a palette). This is GameStop’s first local site for Vive demos and orders which are open to the general public for individual sessions.
Several of the most unique features about the HTC Vive include the room-scale technology that allows users to walk around and explore all the virtual worlds. And, to keep players safe and protected from bumping into objects or walls in the real world, the Chaperone System feature will warn users with a blue gird, or “virtual fence,” to be aware of the object in front of the user, or if the user is at the edge of the play space.
Customers will be able use the Vive with more than 120 game titles now available on SteamVR using an Alienware Area-51 PC. Customers can preorder only at the Bellevue location for June delivery. Additionally, customers will receive a 20 percent bonus trade on their trade-in items. In addition, Power Up Rewards members receive 5,000 points at time of preorder.
