Chased By the Sun is a fast-paced and challenging game made by veterans of the industry who have worked on some of the biggest gaming titles out there. The mobile game is a very simple premise and that you pilot a ship attempting to navigate a solar system filled with all sorts of debris and dangerous objects. Simply by tapping and sliding your finger in the direction you wish the ship to go, players leap from planetoid to planetoid which is necessary in order to get fuel to keep their speed up. Players opting to skip certain planets in order to access a less dangerous path run the risk of them not only losing speed but coming to a dead stop before reaching their objective. With so much debris swirling in multiple directions it can be a real challenge to time things correctly in order to make it to the end of the level. If the debris doesn’t possess enough challenge for gamers there’s also the matter of the title sun which flares behind players and spreads across the solar system incinerating all that it touches. So players looking to hang back and wait for their gap are going to get a very uncomfortably close tan as the emphasis is on quick decisions, timing, and constantly being in motion.
The first few levels progressed fairly well but as the game goes on it becomes quite a challenge. I let a few veteran gamers play it and even they were frustrated by their inability to complete some of the levels later in the game.
With a price point of $1.99 it is certainly very easy on the budget and is a very entertaining and challenging game that should give you plenty of gameplay provided you have an appropriate level of patients to match the challenges the game will offer
