McDroid is a simple and yet semi-complex tower defense game. You land your ship on different parts of Earth and your main task is to man a small 4 legged droid while farming resources and defending your ship. As resources are gathered and levels progress you obtain access to a multitude of unlockable weapons in which you’re able to defend yourself and your ship with.
These weapons can either be used as bolt on equipment for the droid or posted on perimeter boxes around and near the space shuttle. The area in which you navigate the droid is limited but there is plenty of space to setup shop and take on the spawning waves of creatures. The controls are simple and nothing that players will not be able to adjust to within a few stages.
I did feel however that the weapons were under powered but I guess that makes for a more intense environment to navigate through while defending.
At the completion of each level players are awarded a star rating from 1 to 3 based on their performances. The game is fun, simple and easy to pick up and run with and t’s definitely a great way to pass time. However, like most tower defense games it becomes very repetitive the longer you play it which may not appeal to all gamers.
I give it a generous 3 out of 5
