Every January we travel to Las Vegas to cover the Consumer Electronic Show which is a very busy few days of meetings, coverage, and walking. What a show ends, we look forward to a couple of down days in Las Vegas with family who live in the area before we head back home to a busy week of writing, editing, posting, syndicating, and deadlines.
This year my brother-in-law and his wife surprised us with a stay at the beautiful Aliante resort and casino. We had visited the resort on our previous visit and enjoyed their fantastic buffet and a little bit a gaming before we had to leave and drive home. This year we opened with their fantastic dinner buffet that should you hold one of their rewards cards; was only $15.99 for a phenomenal buffet that included several types of steak and prime rib as well is the numerous stations offering everything from Chinese, Mexican, Italian, and countless other culinary options.
The resort offers everything from a TGIF to a farm fresh restaurant, as well as a food court that has plenty of other options for those looking for food on the go. Of course there were also higher and dining options and bars for those looking to unwind.
Upon checking into our room, we were extremely impressed with the comfortable and accommodating decor which also included a very deep and spacious bath and shower.
The flat screen television in the room perfect for watching the playoff games as well is taking in some relaxing viewing much later in the evening.
We have been gifted a pair of movie tickets for the 16 screen Regal Cinema which is located on site, which also allows the hotel to offer numerous dinner and a movie as well is date night options for those were local to the area.
Some people might think that film reviewers might not want to see a movie during their downtime but nothing could be further from the truth, especially when we opted to see a movie that had been assigned to another reviewer to cover. The extremely modern and very comfortable theater had spacious seats which allowed me at 6’4 rest my feet on the rail in front of me comfortably. My wife on the other hand could not reach the railing as it was farther than she had been accustomed to at other theaters.
Upon returning to our room, we took advantage of the complimentary Wi-Fi and used it to catch up on a few Facebook posts as well as a few e-mails, before settling in for the evening.
Our extremely comfortable sleep was accented by the high quality spa amenities which were available for bathing.
I found myself wishing that we would have had a longer stay especially when you take into account the spa, Jacuzzi, and other amenities that were offered, to say nothing of the extremely tempting room service menu.
While it is not located on the strip, the resort is very easy to get to and from, is immaculately clean and modern, as a very warm and inviting staff and vibe.
From the fantastic dining and entertainment options, to the highly enjoyable gaming and relaxation provided, the Aliante has quickly become one of our favorite places to visit in Las Vegas and we hope we can do a longer stay in the near future.
