Inspiration
It is helpful to visit the sites of professional photographers for inspiration. However, you must be careful to not accidentally imitate the style of a photographer you draw inspiration from. When you observe and browse through inspirational photos, single out the combination of fundamentals that make the photos stand out — composition, lighting elements, movement, colors, angles and subject matter. For example, photographer Lauren Stelling excels in the multifaceted variety of poses she has her subjects create — it lends a whimsical element to her photography. Jordan Voth is another inspiring example. He captures beautiful portraits in breathtaking landscapes, utilizing natural light and natural textures. Adam Katz Sinding is another talent to watch. He creates images at low level angles and pays close attention to the position of the horizon in his photography, which is apparent in all of his well-curated shots.
