As Sony prepares for the E3 Showcase, an event that has gone especially well for the past few years, many wonder what the company will reveal. Naturally new titles are to be expected as well as updated gameplay footage from titles such as the upcoming Uncharted and Star Wars Battlefront games.
As they usually do at this time of year, rumors have begun to spread that Sony has a “special announcement” to make during their presentation. What form this will take is still open to interpretation and speculation. Will it be a price drop for the PS4, a slim unit, new hardware, new games, or new features?
Everything from new entries into the God of War, Twisted Metal, and Last of Us series have been speculated as well as remastered versions of Uncharted and past classics has popped up and of course there are the dazzling array of new titles that Sony will be announcing. There has been speculation that much of the new games will be independent titles but something tells me that Sony will have more than this to bring to the table as they are looking to ride the 20th Anniversary of the Playstation system to new levels and build on their already impressive sales base.
Sony will likely have a few curves to throw out that people did not see coming. It is possible they may announce an updated PS Now service that features new titles and a new pricing plan and may also announce more features coming to the system that will add new features to the system.
So with speculations running wild, here is what I would love to see/hear announced at the event in addition to new titles and franchises.
A new entry into the Resistance series, as why not bring the game to the new system as after all, it was a release title for the PS3.
A new Twisted Metal release as with only one entry on the PS3, it would be an amazing experience to see the series take advantage of the speed and visuals of the PS4.
The Order: 1886 An announcement about a sequel/prequel would go a long way towards answering if Sony thinks this is long-term franchise or a one of title.
Bloodborne 2: This is a long shot by far but even Sony has said they have been surprised by the sales for the game and as such they may want to look into further outing in the series.
God of War: I think this is a likely future title for the series as there have been multiple releases and the PS3 and PS4 have had remastered versions so we will see what is to come.
Of course Sony will have a few announcements that few if any saw coming, but for now, fans can speculate as to what good stuff that will announce.
What do you think and hope they will announce at E3 2015? We will be there with our coverage as usual, so stay tuned.
The surprise is probably something that looks great, probably prerendered, but won’t ever surface, that’s the typical Sony modus operandi.
They generally do release the games, just after delaying them.
This is the dumb prediction we just got these games why would bloodborne, The Order 1886 sequel would come in a year games don’t take 1 year to make.
It would not be the first time a sequel or game was announced years before release. All they would have to do is announce a title and a 2016/2017 date.
In regards to the PS Now stuff & the early promotional material for Sony’s presser containing that 20th anniversary text, could they finally be ready to roll out support for the breadth of Sony’s console titles? If they announced a lot of PS One & Two classics hitting PS Now I’m sure that would up the sub numbers tremendously. I know I’m personally holding out for more titles. In all honesty I’ll be fine getting a release date of this year for Until Dawn, some UC4 footage & a couple surprise announcements. I think people harp too much on holiday exclusives & the 3rd party will most likely have the holidays on lock anyway, so a couple mid tier exclusives for the holiday would quench my thirst. Be nice to get hands on Rime this year for sure.
No offense but this article is pretty stupid imo.
You are entitled to think that but 1000 hits and growing in the last hour alone would say other wise. But it would be a dull world if we all liked the same things.
