TNT has picked up the critically acclaimed series “Southland” from Warner Bros. Television several weeks on after the show’s former broadcaster NBC announced it had no plans to continue the acclaimed but poorly rated cop series.
The deal gives the cable channel exclusive rights to air all six unbroadcasted episodes that have been shot for the second season, as well as the previously aired seven episodes from the series’ first season.
Whether TNT will produce new episodes will depend a lot upon the ratings these thirteen episodes obtain. The series will run in full starting from Tuesday, January 12th at 10pm on TNT.
