Located in beautiful Richmond B.C. the Hilton Vancouver Airport hotel successfully blend the needs of both business and recreational travelers, without sacrificing the needs of either.
From it’s locale close to the Richmond Centre Shopping center and numerous shops and restaurants, the Hilton offers guests plenty of options for their leisure time, as there are scores of restaurants, bars and shops all within a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
Upon entering the room, I was struck by how well organized the layout was as it was clear that comfort and functionality were blended well. The main room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a comfy couch and end tables where were ideal for watching the television and relaxing.
The best part of the room to me was the curved windows that offered a gorgeous view of the city which when seated at the work desk, offered the perfect setting to work in a relaxed and serene atmosphere. I connected my laptop to the provided data port and was able to catch up on my messages as well as get a jump start on my workload.
The desk also had a phone and plenty of information on the locale area as well as writing paper and a notepad.
This came in very handy as I was multitasking between the phone, computer and writing a memo during a hectic Saturday morning as I was gathering news for an article as well as coordinating the days activities all the while updating a website about a contest for that evening.
What amazed me is while this should have been a very frantic situation, I was very relaxed as the desk had plenty of space enabling me to work without clutter. Of course the nearby balcony also helped as well as it is hard to be stressed out on a sunny day with the view that the hotel offers.
The bedroom also offered a very scenic view as well as a very comfy bed with ample pillow and plenty of closet space. There was also a second television in the bedroom which would be ideal for families hoping to avoid issues over what to watch.
The hotel offered various first run films on a fee basis as well as a gift shop, nightclub, and a bar and restaurant that had a solid variety from Steak to Seafood.
Due to my tight schedule I did not get to visit the pool, but guests can be assured that the hotel does offer a range of business and recreational services which includes but is not limited to the following….
Foreign Currency Exchange
Laundry/Valet Service
Local Area Transportation
Room Service
Business Center
Audio/Visual Equipment Rental
Meeting Rooms
This was easily one of the best stays I have ever had as the ability to blends recreation and business in a scenic area was outstanding. The locale would be ideal for those looking for a getaway as well as those traveling on business. It should be noted as well that the hotel had a security feature which required users to have a room key in order to use the elevator and access the floors.
I look forward to a future stay at this fine property.
