GTFO Reveals Why It Is One Of The Best Games Players Suck At

Time to squad up and get back into the game.

Swedish game developer 10 Chambers was formed by nine industry veterans
known for PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2 – and released their first game, GTFO, in
December 2019. It’s been described as “Left 4 Dead meets Aliens” and gained
notoriety for being incredibly challenging but also very rewarding when players
finally survive an expedition—something they indeed back up in their GTFO 2020
Wrap-up Stats. According to the numbers, few have survived the horror/action FPS
that puts 4-player cooperation at its core. Players went so far as to nominate the
game as ”The Best Game You Suck At” for the Steam Awards 2020, where you can now
vote for GTFO<https://store.steampowered.com/steamawards#BestGameYouSuckAt>. The
game now has players in 168 countries, and the game’s challenging nature has
contributed to growing a large helpful community. The official Discord is one of the
most active servers in the world and now boasts more than 210 000 members having fun
dying together.
GTFO takes place in a terrifying underground facility called “The Complex,” where
you play a team of prisoners whose survival relies on your ability to communicate,
coordinate - and count your bullets. The game uses a concept they call the Rundown,
where the game is regularly updated with new expeditions (maps, scenarios, enemies,
etc.) that replace the previous ones. To this date, the developers have delivered a
total of 35 expeditions – and it´s still in Early Access. To wrap up GTFO´s first
year in Early Access, 10 Chambers opens up the game´s data vault to reveal how many
– or rather, few – have survived these Rundowns and some more interesting and fun
facts.

Rundown Name
% of players that completed all Expeditions of the Rundown
Rundown 001
0.514%
Rundown Infection
< 0.1%
Rundown The Vessel
0.324%
Rundown Contact
< 0.1%

”We´ve created the challenging real co-op experience we wanted with GTFO, but this
is just the beginning. We will keep updating the game with new content and features
toward our journey to Version 1.0. And we will keep loving seeing gamers’
reactions<https://youtu.be/gr3Cfk1TyXE?t=2376> when they survive an expedition –
it´s genuinely warming to see how rewarding playing GTFO is for our community. That
feeling when you finally nail an expedition together as a team is what GTFO is
about”, says Robin Björkell, Communications Director, 10 Chambers. ”With our
constant improvements and updates, we´ve seen our Steam score go up to 93% recent
positive reviews – another statistic that proves how entertaining it can be to die
in a game.”

Some other insights into the challenging world of GTFO are:

  * 91.18% of all expedition attempts fail – meaning the prisoners die down in the
Complex. 8.82% players scream out of joy surviving their attempts
  * 15,481,694 medical kits have been applied – teamwork is essential in GTFO!
  * The number of times someone has typed ”help” in the terminal: 624,415
  * The most challenging expedition: Expedition E1 in Rundown 002 / Infection,
1.4% percent of those attempting this expedition survived
  * Over 210 000 members on the official GTFO
Discord<https://discord.com/invite/gtfo> – one of the most active in the world,
and players in 168 countries

”We dug even deeper to find out how many have completed all Expeditions in all
Rundowns. The number is less than one in 10 000! Even though GTFO is indeed
challenging and not for everyone, our community of hardcore gamers is putting it to
the test, and they love it so much they keep coming back for more,” says Robin
Björkell. ”I think these numbers prove GTFO is indeed The Best Game You Suck At in
2020.”
GTFO is nominated for ”The Best Game You Suck At” at the Steam Awards
2020<https://store.steampowered.com/steamawards#BestGameYouSuckAt>, and it also
