The Most Anticipated of 2021 You Have to Play
It is fair to say that none of us have had much fun in 2020. While there have been some great video games to play, life has been overshadowed by some pretty strange events. So, let’s look forward to next year and how we will pass our time with more joy and excitement. Here we offer some of the releases that are going to be part of your ultimate games night.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
The Lego games are great. The Star Wars games are pretty awesome too. Therefore, the release of the next Lego Star Wars game is much anticipated. It looks like it is going to be pure fun. A new feature from previous releases is the ability to choose to start the game from the nine Skywalker saga episodes. Each episode has five missions. This means there are a total of 45 levels, which should keep you happy for many, many hours.
It is a non-exclusive title too! Therefore, you can get a copy to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Windows.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood.
Even the name of this game sounds awesome. The Darkness series is obviously successful, which gives us hope that Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is going to continue the high levels of gameplay and design. You will play this RPG as an eco-terrorist werewolf, which already sounds awesome. You need to fight against an evil corporate polluter. You can get a copy to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and Windows.
Resident Evil Village
The Resident Evil series is still going – even though the first release was in 1996. However, the game has come a long way since these early days – with the last release Biohazard offering jaw dropping graphics and gameplay. As this release was such a success, fans of the series have been awaiting Resident Evil Village with much anticipation. We think it will live up to the hype.
Halo is one of the biggest franchises in gaming. The money made off the back of the title is eye-watering. It is therefore no surprise that there is another iteration of the Master Chief storyline in Infinite. Whether Halo Infinite has any hope of living up to the past performance and high levels of expectation is questionable. However, whatever, it is still likely to be a success as people buy it on trust.
Hitman 3 is the third and final instalment of the Agent 47 trilogy. This, like its predecessors, is a stealth-based third-person-shooter. It is due for release in January and like other Hitman games focuses on the need for stealth and deception to win out in the criminal underworld. It seems that the game designers have spent some time maturing this game in this final iteration. Most gamers anticipate that this game could be the best in the series – which is saying something indeed.
Even better news for those looking to the future of gaming, Hitman 3 will be VR compatible. We know this is the sort of game that VR will suit, as full immersion in the gameplay will make the action so intense. We can’t wait.
Grand Theft Auto V
Surely, you say, this game has been out for ages. How can it be a yet to be announced new release for sometime in Grand Theft Auto V. Well, the truth is that you are right. The game was initially released in 2015 on the PS4, XBox One PS3 and PC. However, sometime in 2021, Rockstar Games is re-releasing the game on PS5, Xbox Series X.
The reviews of the re-release have us salivating in anticipation. The biggest feature that we want to see is the first-person view. Here you can get up close and personal with the violence in the game – adding a sense of realism to what felt like an animated world. The change of perspective is genuinely a game-changer and even skilled players will find themselves challenged by the realistic physics of this updated game.
It is not just a change of perspective. The developers have also massively improved the graphics – with some lighting and atmospheric touches that make it all the more realistic. While the option to go off-piste and become a wildlife photographer or take part in a murder mystery will have to be witnessed before we pass judgement – though it sounds a little odd to us!
