This looks like a nice ability that will help mobile gamers.

Finnish game developer Traplight introduces Battle Legion with the new technology against cheating and tampering

AMSTERDAM – August 4th, 2020Denuvo by Irdeto, the global leader in Video Games Protection and Anti-Piracy Technology, today announces the launch of a new anti-tamper and anti-cheat solution for mobile gaming.

The global gaming market is expected to generate revenue of US$ 159.3 billion in 2020, an increase of 9.3% over last year, of which $77.2 billion will come from mobile games. The growing interest in games as a result of COVID-19’s isolation measures and the launch of next generation consoles later this year are some of the main drivers of this growth, according to a Newzoo survey released in June.

Unfortunately, with the increase in mobile gaming, also comes an increase in hackers and cheaters looking for ways to bypass, cheat, modify or pirate games. The need for trusted anti-tamper and anti-cheat solutions is becoming increasingly important.

Award winning Finnish developer Traplight, has taken a stance against cheating, modding and tampering by deploying Denuvo’s mobile anti-tamper solution on their latest release Battle Legion.

Denuvo anti-cheat and anti-tamper for PC have a strong track record of protecting AAA PC titles for over a decade.  Now this same technology is being applied to mobile games to offer the same superior level of protection. It includes key security features such as configurable protection levels, smart detection of protection points, root detection, anti-hooking, virtualization and integrity verification. The solution is added to the final Android or iOS application (APK/Xcarchive) which means no integration effort for game developers while supporting full automation. It is also fine-tuned to each game to ensure there is no performance impact. It also has minimal impact on user’s gameplay experience while guaranteeing no false positives and maximum detection.

“Denuvo’s tech team has been extremely professional and proactively made their lightweight and adjustable mobile real time protection work even on the lowest-end Android devices without a noticeable performance hit. Their team has been responsive and has taken action on figuring out solutions and have proactively profiled their solutions’ performance in our builds and in the build pipeline. Denuvo is highly recommended for any F2P multiplayer game developer wishing to avoid cheaters from ruining their game and business,” said Sami Kalliokoski, Co-Founder of Traplight Games.

Increased Security and Performance

Denuvo works closely with each developer and publisher, offering the opportunity to profile the game before the protection is applied. “This helps to tailor the protection to the individual application and ensure the best end result for the customer with solid user experience in mind,” said Reinhard Blaukovitsch, Managing Director of Denuvo.

Denuvo’s solutions are built by gamers and they’re aware of all the common hacks cheaters use. The anti-tamper solution’s main security features, which all can be configured to be turned on or off, include a code analyzer, a fully automated process allowing smart detection of protection points; an integrity verification to identify any modification of the code on the file system or in memory; anti-debugging & virtualization protection against reverse engineering, detect or prevent debugging of the application on Java and Native level; root detection to take action if device is rooted; anti-hooking detection if program functions are hooked.

Additionally, Denuvo’s security solutions do not affect CPU usage or battery life.

“Denuvo’s anti-tamper technology has minimal impact on user’s experience while still guaranteeing maximum protection. This is one of the most important requirements from our clients, the game developers and publishers. The gamer’s play is not affected by our solutions at all. What we do is prevent piracy, hacking and cheating, brining fairness back to gaming.” added Blaukovitsch.
