Movie Panels And Trailers We Hope To See At SDCC 2020

With SDCC going online this year due to the Corona Virus; the show will offer over 350 panels online which will be free for everyone to watch.

The first two days have released their schedules and they are filled with a great mix of studio and industry panels that offer something for everyone.

The panels will mostly be pre-recorded but there will be the usual abundance of stars and creative talents that have become a standard for SDCC and the reason why it is the top Pop Culture event in the world.

As we await the Friday-Sunday schedule to be revealed; I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the announcements/reveals that we hope to see.

While filming largely has been shut down since March due to the pandemic; there are some films in production currently such as the “Avatar” films and reports have production resuming soon on various film and television projects abroad.

So far the biggest film panel will be “Bill and Ted Face the Music” but I would be shocked if this was the only new movie panel or reveal during the show. With that in mind; let us look at some things we may or would like to see during the show.

“Godzilla vs. Kong”

Reports indicate that a trailer has been submitted for rating approval so it may be waiting to be revealed at the show. It is a perfect time for the reveal as there will be a massive audience watching online and this is exactly what any film could need to get people excited.

“Mortal Kombat”

This is another interesting possibility as the movie was filmed in September-December of 2019 so this could be a great time for the first look.

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife”

While it was delayed and we have already had a trailer; it might be the ideal time to show off more about the film.

“Morbius”

This is another film where we have already had a trailer reveal but due to the delay in release this could be another possible film as what better place to do something for a comic based movie?

“Bob’s Burgers: The Movie”

They are supposed to have a panel for the show so what better time to reveal what the film version of the show will offer.

“Jurassic World: Dominion”

Filming started prior to the shutdown and has reportedly resumed. This could be a massive reveal in the making.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage”

Filming started in November last year and we may be in line for a look at what is in store for the next chapter in the series.

“The Suicide Squad”

Filming was reportedly completed and this comic based film by James Gunn would be ideal for a SDCC reveal.

“The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard”

The movie was due out this year and features some great Pop Culture icons in Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson and would be one that people would be interested in.

“The Batman”

Filming had started and has reportedly resumed and this is a reveal that would be absolutely perfect for fans to experience.

“Mission Impossible 7”

Filming has been done in spurts but perhaps there will be enough for fans to get a preview of what is coming in the long-running franchise.

One of the biggest issues is the changing release dates as cinemas have not opened in most of the world and with many of the scheduled 2020 releases being pushed back or rescheduled for 2021; some films scheduled for next year may have to rethink their release dates and may opt to push back and look at SDCC 2021 when people will be able to experience the show in person once again.

What are you hoping to see revealed at the show?
