Comic-Con Museum Virtual Tour Recap

Last weekend I was given the opportunity to be one of 100 people to take a virtual tour of the Comic-Con Museum located in beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego, CA. The tour consisted of prerecorded video as well as a question-and-answer session with two of the staff members.

From the screening room, cafeteria, and other locales shown, viewers were shown current and future plans and the video was stopped frequently in order for guests ask questions and to offer suggestions as to some of the events that they would like to see in the future.

One event that was a huge success was the Batman event which took place during Comic-Con 2019 where props, costumes, and more were on display.

Everything from writers workshops, premieres, memorabilia, and other fan related events were suggested and eagerly received by the staff and guests. Since the current situation has eliminated conventions for the foreseeable future; virtual conventions and events are starting to gain traction and the people behind Museum are using this opportunity to give something back to the community as well as plan for the future when they are able to reopen the doors to the public many of whom are deeply missing their Pop Culture events, shows, movies, and fan communities.

While this in no way makes up for the loss of San Diego Comic-Con in 2020; it does provide a much-needed break as well as a reminder that better days are ahead and we will eventually all get back to enjoying events again.
