Cooler Master Announces MM711 Challenge For Charity

This sounds like a great idea for a great cause.

LOS ANGELES, CALIF., April 29, 2020 Cooler Master, a global leader in designing and manufacturing innovative gaming peripherals and computer components, has announced The MM711 Challenge for COVID-19 Relief, a new contest that aims to raise funds for those impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

“The coronavirus is a serious global issue that is affecting millions around the world today,” says Bryant Nguyen, General Manager for the Peripherals Business Unit. “We wanted to help in any way that we could, and we’re asking our incredible community to help us in our efforts.”

The MM711 Challenge for COVID-19 Relief will enable Cooler Master to create a limited edition MM711 lightweight gaming mouse in which all proceeds will go to a coronavirus relief fund.

The challenge will take part in two parts. In the design phase, Cooler Master will ask its fans to submit colorway designs for the MM711. The community will vote for the winning design and the creator will receive a prize package of products worth $1K USD. The second phase is a crowdfunding period in which Cooler Master will solicit immediately available donations and in return donors will receive in-store credit that amounts to the proceeds for the mouse when it’s released.

“Frankly, gaming peripherals are pretty low on the list of priorities for the world right now,” says Nguyen, “But bringing the community together for a design challenge and then raising money for an incredibly serious cause is something we can all get behind.”

The design phase of the challenge will run from April 29 to May 8 with the voting phase running from May 11 -17. The winning design will be revealed on May 18th. The crowdfunding phase will run from May 18 – June 18.
