Dying Light Celebrates 4th Anniversary

Even though Part 2 is on the way; they have plenty coming for the original.

TECHLAND’S DYING LIGHT CELEBRATES FOURTH ANNIVERSARY, 16 MILLION PLAYERS
WITH DOUBLE XP EVENT AND IN-GAME ITEM GIVEAWAYS

Dying Light, the best-selling first-person action survival horror game
developed by Techland, has just turned four. Released in 2015, the game has
seen a total of nearly 16 million unique players. The anniversary will be
celebrated with an in-game event that allows players to score double XP
points. Additionally, unique and previously-unavailable legacy items such
as the Rocket League Buggy Skin will be given away.

“The last four years have brought not only Dying Light, but also the whole
company  to a whole new level – our development and publishing teams have
grown in people whose passion directly shows in our games,” said Techland
CEO, Paweł Marchewka. “Those talented team members and our dedicated
community are a huge part of Techland’s DNA and have inspired us to keep Dying
Light alive and running for so long.”

Since the game’s initial release, Techland has been supporting Dying Light
constantly, including an expansion pack, The Following, a series of regular
drops, the “10-IN-12” program, and regular in-game events.

“This approach is reflected in sales, which have not just resisted decline
but in fact significantly increased from last year, an unusual feat in the
games market,” continued Marchewka. “Our tactics of constant community
engagement and iteration based on direct feedback from our core players has
been integral to this success – taking care to exceed the expectations of
those fans and improve the game over time doesn’t just make existing
players happy, it infects new audiences too.”

An anniversary video sees Dying Light fans explain the game’s ongoing appeal.
