LUNAR NEW YEAR AT SEAWORLD: SeaWorld San Diego’s Lunar New Year is full of festive fun, food and good fortune for the whole family! This festival celebrating the Chinese New Year features jaw-dropping Chinese acrobats (including a new teeter-board act), mouthwatering cuisine and traditional cultural performances such as taiko drumming, martial arts and lion dances. Plus, in recognition of Year of the Pig, SeaWorld is featuring an all-new, “Pig Garden,” where guests can meet some of SeaWorld’s rescued potbellied pigs up close. San Diego’s premier Lunar New Year celebration continues this weekend Feb. 9–10 and for an extended holiday weekend, Feb. 15–18, 2019.
‘SEA’ IT ALL WITH SEAWORLD FUN CARD OR ANNUAL PASS: SeaWorld’s 2019 Fun Card is plain and simple: visitors pay for a day and play at the park all year! The popular Fun Card is an incredible value that pays for itself after only one visit, providing guests with tons of fun at SeaWorld through Dec. 31, 2019 (with limited blockout dates). SeaWorld’s can’t-beat annual Pass options offer consumers a choice of tiered pricing and benefits, starting with the Bronze Pass at only $7.99 a month and including 12 months admission, exclusive events and giveaways, and savings on parking, all the way up to the Platinum Pass ($19.99 a month), which includes 12 months of admission at SeaWorld, Aquatica SeaWorld’s Waterpark and nine other parks in the SeaWorld family; free reserved seats at shows; free parking; three guest tickets for select promotional dates; up to 50 percent off of select animal experiences; and much more. With a SeaWorld Fun Card or Annual Pass in hand, guests can be among the first to ride Tidal Twister, a first-of-its-kind dueling roller coaster debuting in time for summer, plus all the exciting seasonal events the park has to offer, including the Seven Seas Craft Beer & Food Festival this spring and SeaWorld’s summer nighttime extravaganza Electric Ocean.
CAMP SIGN-UP UNDER WAY: February is the perfect time to sign up for summer camp and registration is under way for SeaWorld Camps. Kids of all ages can get into some serious summer fun at SeaWorld’s camp programs, where activities include interactions with animals and behind-the-scenes looks at how they are cared for and trained. Day Camp is available for 1st through 6th graders on select weeks between July 9 and Aug. 17. Five-night Resident Camps for 5th through 12th graders take place July 18–Aug. 10. For more information, visit www.SeaWorldSanDiego.com. SEAWORLD AIDED MORE THAN 1,000 ANIMALS IN 2018: Since 1965, SeaWorld parks have rescued more than 33,000 marine animals with a goal of rehabilitating and returning them to the wild, giving them a second chance at life. In 2018, SeaWorld San Diego alone aided more than 1,000 animals: 931 birds, 119 California sea lions, 22 elephant seals, 11 harbor seals, 10 Guadalupe fur seals, five sea turtles, three northern fur seals and one dolphin. In addition, the San Diego Rescue Team also responded to three large-whale entanglements. As the 2019 rescue season gets into full swing, SeaWorld is once again ready to come to the aid of ill, injured, abandoned or stranded animals along the beaches of San Diego, and reminds members of the public who see a marine animal that appears in need of help to call SeaWorld’s Rescue Hotline at (800) 541-SEAL (7325) or report the stranding on the park’s website.
