Ayres Hotel: Anaheim

On a recent trip to Anaheim; we stayed at the Ayres Hotel and found it to be an enjoyable option.  Prior to check in we started to get texts offering us all sorts of things from early check in to a bottle of wine but of course; each of those came with an additional fee.

After an afternoon of errands and some coverage at Knott’s Berry Farm; we settled into the hotel and were able to find parking close to the door and experienced a very pleasant and fast check in. Our room was clean and comfy but we were not able to get the Air Conditioning to come on. The room requires a room key to be in a slot to get power as if you remove the key; the lights and power go off until the key is returned.

Despite this we had no A.C. and a helpful staff member came in to reset the breaker on the unit’s plug which had us up and going in no time.

The hotel is walking distance from the Honda Center and as such, we made our way to a Sports Bar for dinner which was much fancier and better than we expected.

The hotel offered a complimentary work station in the lobby as well as a mini-shop and I was able to print off some passes we had the next day for SeaWorld before we went to our room for the evening. Of course we realized we needed to do a store run, and the staff suggested the best way for us to get to Target to avoid the park traffic in case our G.P.S. had us going a less than ideal route.

Once back from our errands we settled in for the evening with plenty of television stations to select from and good Wi-Fi and in –room coffee as well as a mini fridge.

Our room came with a hot breakfast and it was a nice mix of eggs, sausage, potatoes, and Pancakes, as well as the usual breads, fruit, and cereals one would expect.

While we did not get to enjoy the pool and spa on this trip, the hotel had plenty to offer to go along with a good location and helpful staff.

Our check out was easy and we were on our way to San Diego in no time which capped off our very enjoyable but brief stay.  We hope to do a longer visit and review at a future date.
