We are honored today, on the 74th anniversary of D-Day, to assist Wargaming in announcing World of Tanks: Mercenaries as the most compelling World War II-based online multiplayer armored combat experience, coming exclusively (and completely free) to Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 systems on June 26, 2018.
World of Tanks: Mercenaries (which going forward will be the official name of the combined console version of World of Tanks, the story-driven War Stories component and all new Mercenaries-themed content) offers a completely updated gaming experience and introduces the Mercenaries “nation.” With the credo of “Be Your Own Hero,” they are driven by their own motives and are loyal to no existing government. Their tanks are an impressive assembly of technologies scavenged from across the globe, with a giant dash of improvisation and ingenuity added to create an entirely new armored force, ideally suited to this new ragtag but highly lethal military force.
World of Tanks: Mercenaries will be rolled out as a completely free update to all 15 million global console-based virtual tank commanders. In addition to unlocking the Mercenaries faction, it adds new maps, new content and the first three-chapter story-driven campaign, “The Heist”. Alone, or alongside a fellow Mercenary, immerse yourself in an all-new alternate history of World of Tanks: Mercenaries, featuring a nail-biting plotline where you’re asked to steal nuclear materials for a client, only to face the combined military might and ire of the United States and Soviet Union.
