Coming to the Oculus Rift

When it comes to interactive media, the rise of VR technology has changed the game (literally). Now there are a number of new titles hitting the shelves that are sure to blow your mind in ways that you didn’t even know were possible.

Defector

For anyone who’s every wanted to be James Bond, Defector may be the game for you. Twisted Pixel’s latest game sees the player take on the role of an elite undercover operative who can choose to approach the mission using delicate negotiation techniques, or go in guns blazing ready for a firefight. Different decisions see players facing new challenges, so whether you want to square up for some good old-fashioned gun slinging with five of your closest enemies or jump out of a plane, this game has the action and adventure to appeal to any adrenaline junkie.

Vox Machinae

untitled6

Did you love Transformers as a kid?  Do you wish you were a Jaeger pilot? If you answered yes to either of these questions or you just like big fighting robots, do I have the game for you. Vox Machinae by Space Bullet Dynamics is “the ultimate giant robot combat action-simulator.” Choose your favorite robot, customize it with lasers, missles, and other weapons, then fight up to 16 players to crush the enemy.  Single, local multiplayer, and online play are all available for VR and standard screens.

Space Junkies

Ubisoft’s Space Junkies takes advantage of the opportunities that three dimensions bring to pvp arcade shooter combat. Use your jetpack to move around and seek out your enemies, or fly into cover if they’re hot on your tail.  Space Junkies plays out in 1v1 or 2v2 games which are plenty of excitement when you can fly anywhere in space and the fact that enemies can appear from literally any direction adds an extra thrill.

Blind

untitled2

A psychological thriller developed by Tiny Bull Studios, blind is the tale of a young woman who wakes up in an unfamiliar room with no memory of how she got there, and who has suddenly lost her sight.  Following the sinister voice of someone called “the Warden”, she must use her cane to “see” using echolocation, solve the Warden’s puzzles, find her brother, and then escape.  As she begins to piece together the events that led her here, she learns that there are some things that we don’t (or won’t) see.

Paper Valley

untitled4

Journey to a peaceful land full of friendly paper airplanes just waiting to be thrown. In Paper Valley by Vitei Backroom. Use the airplanes to test your throwing arm, discover more about the land’s hidden secrets, or simply enjoy the simple and relaxing experience.  Hit your target to continue on your journey; miss, and your wayward airplanes turn into plants, bringing life and beauty into the formerly barren landscape.  Crumbling statues and strange monuments hint at a civilization long gone, and only you and your paper companions can discover what happened here.

 Vacation Simulator

untitled5

From the creators of Job Simulator comes Vacation Simulator, the natural progression of the series; for as we all know, after you [JOB] you must [VACATION] to experience optimal human emotions such as [RELAXATION] and [SUNBURN]. In this supremely accurate, not-at-ll satirical Vacation Simulator, the robots who have replaced the human workforce can show you not only what it was like to [JOB] back in the good old days of the 2010s, but now you can learn how to [VACATION] too!
