Blind Announced For VR
There are some great horror VR game so looking forward to seeing how this is.
PSYCHOLOGICAL VR THRILLER BLIND COMING TO OCULUS RIFT, HTC VIVE AND OSVR
Become a Sightless Woman Forced to Face Her Fears in Echolocation-Based Adventure, Blind. Launching in Q2 2018 On PC with PlayStation®VR to Follow.
MELBOURNE, Australia – April 6, 2018 – Developer Tiny Bull Studios and indie label Surprise Attack Games today announced the imminent release of the Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE and Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) versions of psychological virtual reality thriller, Blind, with the PlayStation®VR (PSVR) version coming soon. Check out the trailer here.
Waking up in a strange room with scant memory of how she came to be there, a young woman makes the shocking discovery that she has lost her sense of sight. Goaded by the mysterious Warden, she must explore a twisted and frightening mansion using echolocation. Sound waves briefly reveal the outlines of objects, enabling her to navigate the mansion, solve puzzles and uncover the mystery of what is happening and why. As she gets closer and closer to the truth, however, she will be forced to confront her worst enemy – that which she does not, or will not, see.
Born out of the Global Game Jam in 2014, which had the theme of “we don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are,” the Blind team won the Best Game award at the Turin (Italy) jam site with their entry Come to See My House. Tiny Bull Studios took this prototype to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March of that year, catching the eye of then fledgling indie label, Surprise Attack Games.
Together they decided to take the concept and develop it as a VR-only title. The game design has been heavily informed by the unique experience VR provides and the counter-to-popular wisdom approach of utilizing VR to restrict and control the player’s senses rather than flood them.
The narrative-driven puzzle adventure game features around four to five hours of gameplay and will be releasing in Spring on all major PC-based VR platforms, with a version for PSVR releasing later in 2018.
