VIVOX DIALS IN AN UPGRADE TO SQUAD COMMUNICATIONS

IN UBISOFT’S RAINBOW SIX SIEGE

Vivox’s Stability, Service Record, and Cross-Platform Performance Factor into Ubisoft’s Decision to Include Enhanced Voice in “Operation Health”

November 1, 2017 (Boston, MA) – To continue improving player communication in Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft Montreal selected Vivox to replace their custom-built, peer-to-peer voice chat software on Xbox One, PS4 and PC with the proven capabilities of the Vivox technology suite.

Due to their increasingly competitive focus, modern online games often require expert synchronization from participants, and easy-to-access voice and text chat services are critical to achieving victory in a match. After the launch of Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft knew that their highest-skilled players needed rock solid, server-based voice communication to coordinate their tactics and improve their chances at winning. By including Vivox’s software as part of their “Operation Health” initiative, Ubisoft has achieved all those goals and displayed a commitment to their top tier players and whole community by allowing them to continue to easily communicate at any point during an online match.

“Ubisoft approached us with an existing, incredibly successful live game and community. They knew that they needed to give their users a solid communication tools, a solution efficient on dedicated servers but also that would alleviate their online architecture.” said Rob Seaver, CEO, Vivox. “We were excited to work with their team; not only to improve their voice quality but also to give them a streamlined ready to use solution for the long run. It was – and continues to be – an exciting partnership.”

“When we were evaluating solutions for our voice needs, Vivox immediately jumped out with their proven stability and notable partner list,” said Alexandre Remy, Brand Director, Rainbow Six Siege. “What surprised us was the ease of the integration and how the Vivox tech just worked from the first day of our testing. During every part of the process we were consistently impressed with Vivox’s dedication to service and ability to readily meet all our needs.”

Gamers on Xbox One, PS4, and PC can expect continued improvements to their communications thanks to the dedicated development team at Vivox. With voice and text communication being the priority of the Vivox team, Ubisoft can focus their efforts on maintaining and improving the already successful Rainbow Six Siege.

“Our first and primary priority is the experience of the players, no matter the size of game, size of the studio, or the platform they’re playing on,” said Dave Verratti, President, Vivox. “Ubisoft Montreal presented us with an exciting proposition – to seamlessly swap a pre-existing voice technology with the Vivox services without any degradation to the player experience. After observing the response from the Rainbow Six Siege community, we believe we’ve accomplished that mission.”
