Mario And Sonic Revealed As The Most Googled Game Characters

Interesting stuff.

 

Decluttr.com has used Google search data to figure out which video game character is the most popular across all of the states.

 

  • Golden oldies Mario and Sonic topped searches in 7 states each, with Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, South Dakota and Washington, all searching for the Italian plumber
  • While Sonic won Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio and Wyomin
  • Tied for 2ndwith six states each are Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft and Freddy Fazbear from the cult horror series Five Nights at Freddy’s
  • Villains proved to be surprisingly popular too, with Bowser taking 4 states andFinal Fantasy VII’s Sephiroth the most searched character in California and Oregon
