7 Games that deserves the Remake treatment

Lately, we have been seeing many classics from the past receive a Remake treatment like Crash Trilogy, Resident Evil 2 Remake and FFVII Remake so I thought of making an article about games i believe deserves the same treatment as those classics.

1 – Parasite Eve (PS1 – 1998)

Parasite Eve is one of the best games I have ever played and it was one of the first games that blended RPG and Horror mechanics. The game takes place in New York and you take on the role of an NYPD officer called Aya Brea as she tries to stop a monster from destroying the human race through spontaneous human combustion.

How do I think they should Remake it?

Make it an Open world RPG/Horror game where you fight the creatures with the abilities and weapons at your disposal with a good amount of side quests and tons of buildings you can enter. I believe it could be phenomenal if they do it right.

2 – Deadly Premonition (X360, PS3, PC – 2010)

Deadly Premonition is one of the best and one of the worst games I played last gen. It has an amazing and weird story that is hampered by an awful gameplay and outdated visuals.

How do I think they should Remake it?

Well, it’s simple really. Make the gameplay fun and bring it up to par with the current gen visuals and you got a masterpiece in your hand.

3 – Crash Team Racing and Crash Bash (Ps1 – 1999 and 2000 respectively)

Those two games definitely deserve the same treatment the first trilogy got. CTR in my has opinion the best Kart racing gameplay to date (sorry Mario Kart 8) and Crash bash had some fun mini-games that made it a great party game then you can easily pick up and play.

How do I think they should Remake it?

Just up the visuals to the PS4 standards and add multiplayer to both games and you got an excellent package with tons of hours of fun. And adding new stages to both games would be amazing.

4 – Resident Evil 3 (PS1 – 1999)

Resident Evil 1 and 2 got the remake treatment and this one deserves it too for being just as good and has the scariest antagonist in the whole series which is the Nemeses.

How do I think they should Remake it?

Give it the brilliant atmosphere and fixed camera angles of Resi 1 Remake with current gen visuals and make mercenaries mode playable with other friends and you will have an excellent package.

5 – Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2 – 2004)

Sigh, Konami. How could you have a masterpiece like this in your hand and turn it into a pachinko? MGS3 has a special place in my heart and story wise, it’s my favorite in the series. I just loved seeing the relationship between The Boss and Naked Snake.

How do I think they should Remake it?

Give us a current gen MGS3 with those superb visuals that Is in the pachinko version and combine that with the amazing gameplay mechanics of MGSV. I really hope konami get their head out of their asses one day and make this a reality. It’s sad and insulting to the fans of the series to see those beautiful visuals locked behind Pachinko machines.

6 – Syphon Filter (Ps1- 1999)

Syphon Filter back then was amazing and rivaled MGS 1 at the time. But unfortunately, It never gained the same popularity as MGS did.

How do I think they should Remake it?

Aside from making it with current gets visuals. Make the set pieces with the same production value as Uncharted 4 and gameplay that is similar to MGSV when it comes to stealth and you will have one superb game that will rival the best action games today.

7- MediEvil (Ps1- 1998)

MediEvil was a hack and slash with an amazing atmosphere and a bit of a sloppy gameplay

How do I think they should Remake it?

Make it similar to Souls/Borne when it comes to gameplay and give it the same awesome atmosphere it had back then with current gen visuals and it will be mind-blowing.

So those are 7 games I think deserves the Remake treatment. What games do you think deserves the Remake treatment? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Parasite Eve for sure. I would also love a Legend of Dragoon remake.

Very good choices. I was all in for X-Com years ago and that was done so not sure where I am at now. I did say Dead Space in VR would be fun.
