Blizzard Reveals Necromancer Details For Diablo 3

Blizzard has announced a new playable hero in Diablo III: Reaper of Souls: the Necromancer. Necromancers are grim summoners who draw upon the power of blood and bone harvested from their fallen enemies. They can curse enemies and reanimate their carcasses or make those corpses explode. Necromancers arrive as inspiration by the Diablo II hero–the Priests of Rathma, and have been reimagined to take advantage of Diablo III.

Necromancers can directly control undead forces and are masters of the dark arts. They draw the Essence from the corpses of their enemies. Some of the skills of the Necromancer include a Grim Scythe which has a wide arc and can deal damage and restore Essence. Also, Necromancers use Blood Nova, which unleashes a powerful nova dealing massive damage to surrounding enemies. Players can also summon Blood Golem, an ally that can drain blood from enemies and restore your health. You can also consume corpses to restore Essence with Devour, curse enemies with Leech to transfer their life energy to you and your allies, and shed mortal flesh to pass through solid objects to reach new locations swiftly with Blood Rush.

The Rise of the Necromancer Pack will include the character, an in-game pet, cosmetic wings, two character slots, two stash tabs, a portrait frame, pennant, banner and banner sigil. The pack will launch globally on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Look for the pack in the second half of 2017.
