Our Best Games Of 2016 List

There have been some amazing games in 2016 and it is going to make our Game Awards a very hard call this year. For now, here are my favorite games of 2016.

DOOM

As someone who played the original games on my 486 PC I loved how Bethesda skillfully combined the run and gun aspects of the original with all the modern bells and whistles. Great action, graphics, and gameplay, and multiplay that deftly combined the old and new makes this a must own game.

Battlefield 1

A gripping series of solo play campaigns sets the stage for this gripping World War 1 game and the multiplayer features a vast mix of locales, weapons, and vehicles and plenty of action.

TitanFall 2

The solo play campaign that was missing from the original really sets this game apart as it delivers what was needed in the original.  The multiplayer offers more of the same action that players loved in the original and combined to make one of the best releases of the year.

Dishonored 2

The game is an amazing tale of revenge and betrayal that would have made William Shakespeare proud. Mixing plenty of action with multiple paths to success, this game grabbed me and did not let go until I completed it.

Uncharted 4: A Thieves End

From the great graphics to the gripping story and action, Naughty Dog have crafted yet another gem.

Civilization VI

The legendary world building series keeps getting better with a deep and challenging new entry that tasks players to build and maintain an empire.

Tom Clancy’s The Division

Some cited some launch issues at the game but I found it a deeply compelling and captivating game that keeps me playing. Numerous updates fixed issues and added new content as the game combines solo and group play in an outbreak ridden New York. The scope of the game and detail level alone makes this a must own.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

It became fashionable to take shots at the series but Infinity Ward has given us one of the best games in the series to date. The solo mode is a gripping futuristic tale with plenty of side missions and replay value. The multiplayer portion is solid and the Zombie mode which casts players in an 80s theme park complete with an appropriate soundtrack is some of the most fun you will have in gaming.
