Playstation Experience 2016 Looks To Offer Plenty Of Great Stuff For Gamers

With the Playstation Experience 2016 set for December 3rd and 4th in Anaheim, California, many gamers are excited to see what Sony will reveal during the last major gaming convention of 2016. This is the third year for the show and all indications are that this years show will be bigger and better than ever. We have covered the two previous years of the show, but we have been getting meeting requests and frequent news updates on a level not seen in previous years which tells us that publishers are really looking to take advantage of the showcase in ways that we normally attribute to shows such as E3 and PAX West.

By this I mean, meetings, big reveals, first looks, and more than are not confined simply to a stage presentation during the opening ceremonies. Past years were big on reveals and hands on for pending titles, but we have had a few really interesting things arise that makes us believe there are some really big reveals coming beyond what one would normally expect.

We have been asked to have a meeting with the Destiny team which at first I put down to a catching up with the team to discuss their latest DLC. Then I realized that the latest content would be a couple of months old by the time the show opens, which makes me wonder if we will be seeing new content that is due in the future or perhaps a sequel. The timing of it is also very interesting as perhaps there is some Playstation exclusive to be revealed as well.

Naughty Dog has revealed that the Survival mode for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be shown and playable at the event which is going to be huge as the Game of the Year contender is getting even more content which will only make fans even happier and make the title more compelling moving into the Holiday Season for those who have yet to experience it.

I would expect Horizon: Zero Dawn to be featured as we loved what we saw and played at PAX West and along with The Last Guardian and God of War are one of the biggest titles coming up for eager fans.

With the release of the Playstation Pro and Playstation VR, we would expect to hear about new titles that will take advantage of the 4K abilities of the enhanced console and new VR experiences for gamers to explore. The big question is exactly what will be announced and revealed which makes things very interesting.

Sony has a very impressive list of publishers announced and looking over the list one cannot help but be excited over the potential announcements.

Activision will likely have Call of Duty DLC news and information on Destiny but EA offers some really interesting options. Will gamers get news on the final EA Star Wars Battlefront DLC which will release two days after the show or will we get news on the sequel or other Star Wars games in development? Will there be news about the pending Mass Effect: Andromeda or other titles that will be done in special deal with Sony?

The list of possibilities is endless as everything from a new Killzone to new franchises and unannounced sequels are all within the realm of reason for gamers to expect. Combine that with the special events, competitions, convention exclusives, and more, you can see why the Playstation Experience is one of the most captivating and fastest growing events in the gaming industry I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us.
