Powered by an Intel Haswell Core 17 CPU running at 6700HQ with up to 64 GB RAM capacity, this is a very fast unit.

The Predator 15 features a 15.6 Ultra HD display screen which is ideal for gaming and watching Blu-rays as well as streaming Netflix and other content.  For those wanting to Skype or Video Chat, the unit comes with a built in camera which has very good picture and sound quality as well.

The Predator 15 has 4 USB ports as well as an HDMI port, USB 3.1 ports and the ability to connect headphones and other devices which makes it ideal for home, office, or on the go. We used the unit while covering E3, San Diego Comic Con and while presenting at Phoenix Comicon and it worked perfectly.

It worked great as a source of images and video for my panels as it connected to the projector at the venue without issues and gave a fast and reliable transfer and presentation of data.

On the road it offered a fast way to edit pictures and video, check emails, write articles, and more after a long day at the convention.

Of course the above activities would seem to be a bit of underuse for a system that touts itself as a gaming laptop and sports an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M which is capable of doing V.R. and all of your gaming needs.

I played Fallout 4, EA Star Wars Battlefront, DOOM, Battleborn, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on the unit and aside from a bit of framerate issues it ran like a champ. Those issues were fixed by driver updates and a few in game setting adjustments but I was able to run the games at a great speed and have no visual compromises.

Using Windows 10, I had the unit as a backup at one of our workstations in office, so I could multitask by using it for some functions while working on other functions on a different PC> Such as streaming content while writing on one system, or checking e-mail while playing a game, etc. The unit performed very well aside for a few lag issues with the mouse touchpad where it would halt but eventually resume function. This pretty much disappeared after some driver updates and the unit has continued to perform well since.

The keyboard is backlit and the sturdy keys allow for fast typing and quick response times when gaming which is ideal for those who want versatility and do not want to compromise their gaming experience.

At 7.5 lbs. the unit does have some weight to it but you want some heft in order to keep all of that hardware safe. The unit is also fairly quiet and runs quietly aside for the moments when the fan comes on to cool things off.

With a price starting at $1499.99 the Acer Predator 15 is a great option for gamers looking for top flight gaming laptop that gives them the versatility of a high-end tower system without having to compromise. It is well worth a look as I know you will love it as much as we have.
