EA Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star DLC Screens, Trailer And Opinion

Star Wars Celebration 2016 is going on now in London and EA has revealed more details, images, and a trailer about the upcoming third DLC pack for EA Star Wars Battlefront.

Adding new space combat options is a big step as this was a bit lacking in the original release as the gameplay became a bit repetitive after a while for me. I think being able to skim the trench will be a huge plus and appeal to gamers greatly.

With the next pack focusing on Rogue Squadron it is clear space combat is a key point of emphasis. We can hope ground to air missions may be coming in the not to distant future or at the least in the sequel for the game.

It would have been nice to see some video of Bossk and Chewbacca in action but soon hopefully. I also would have liked to have seen some of the maps for the game but hopefully they will include the trash compactor and other key areas.

The full release is below.

There was big news at Star Wars Celebration Europe today as fans from across the galaxy tuned in to watch the panel live hosted by everyone’s favorite Ewok, Warwick Davis.

Niklas Fegreaus, Design Director at DICE joined multiple creators of different Star Wars games at EA to give fans the latest news about two upcoming expansion packs for Star Wars™ Battlefront™. Set to release first, the Death Star expansion is slated to release this fall, followed by the highly anticipated Rogue One: Scarif update targeted for release this holiday season.

Although not everyone is able to travel to London for Celebration, fans got to see a sneak peek of the brand new Death Star digital expansion update.

The developers also continued looking at the road ahead and announced the official title for our 4th digital expansion: Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Rogue One: Scarif available two weeks early for Season Pass owners. Here is the first look at exclusive concept art for the upcoming expansion pack which continues the battle with heroes from Rogue One: A Star Wars™ Story and explores a new planet from the upcoming film.

That isn’t it however, as all players will benefit from free upcoming game updates. For fans who prefer to play offline, make sure to check out the new Skirmish mode which will be available on July 21st.

Skirmish will offer players the ability to play across two of Star Wars Battlefront’s most popular modes on a difficulty level of your choosing. While offline, you can take to the battlefront in Walker Assault, or to the skies in Fighter Squadron. With multiple locations that span the Star Wars universe, Skirmish brings a new way to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront and there is even an option for coop split screen. (Console only)

Along with Skirmish, Jabba returns with another Hutt Contract for players to unlock. The Stinger Pistol is the first charged Star Card that is an actual weapon that can be freely fired during the card’s active time. We look forward to seeing you on the battlefront or in the skies. And as always, may the Force™ be with you.

That death star teaser looks fu*king sick. An actual space level in a Star Wars game, wow, who’d have thunk it :/ Better late than never I suppose

Very true. I would love to have seen more of the character play but I am sure that is coming. I want to know if players can Torpedo the Death Star.
